Day 5 -Rest day in Paris

Updated: Mar 20, 2019

It's almost Spring and the daffodils are out in the gardens in the city of romance.

Grant has had a chance to catch up on some much needed sleep, do some washing and rest those weary legs in compression socks and do some important bike maintenance which included an interesting trip to the Cycle Store in central Paris.

The owner of the store listened patiently to Grant explaining the problems he was experiencing with his chain and the gears and looking at him quite perplexed asked ( insert French accent here) ......'Is this a bike or is this a motor home?'

Needless to say after all of that , he couldn't help as it was all just too complicated for him!

There has been the usual intermittent rain but not having to be on his bike all day gave Grant some time to take in the sights and take some photos for us to enjoy too.

Julian and Ruby are missing their Dad very much and Saturday was a day filled with lots of tears and constant calling and messaging so that Grant could listen to project work about rattle snakes and recordings done during piano lessons during the week.

It's been a tough week for everyone but mostly for the guy on the bike fighting the weather and the technical issues.

Hoping this week starts on a good note as he leaves Paris in the early hours of the morning and heads towards Bordeaux!
