I think that Grant’s measuring of distance is starting to be an issue. We started off getting an early morning update on the 70km route for the day. By the time they stopped riding the odometer was sitting at 85km -an ‘easy’ ride!

There was some climbing but the one thing that clearly defined the day was the icy 3 degree temperatures. Thankfully, they managed to stay ahead of the rain, riding on bicycle paths through rural pastures and fields.
Julian did really well with the climbing but Grant feels like he is trailing behind, I suppose that’s comparing the 15 year old legs to the 61 year old ones!
Riding next to freshly ploughed fields waiting for Spring planting was about as exciting as it got until they rode next to a dam for a while and landed up chugging slowly through a kilometer of muddy terrain.
Luckily the apartment we booked in Kielce was lovely and warm, spacious and incredibly well equipped but with such low temperatures and no clothes dryer, washing couldn’t be done as there are limited cycling outfits in their very restricted pannier space.

Grant’s chat to me this morning included a comment about ‘being so smelly and crusty people are going to start turning us away when we arrive anywhere’!
Thankfully the city of Krakow is a two-night stop and lots of chores will be attended to!
“The most exciting part of our day today was heading out for a delicious pizza, tomato soup and a beer- not a burger in sight!” -Grant

I’m so impressed with the breakfast and lunch prep pictures I get daily- I think the planning is essential especially with the cold temperatures and the climbing that is going to increase over the next few days and the lack of required cafes along the routes.
Tomorrow is a short (let’s see what that means) ride is planned with what looks like milder weather, some rolling hills and the night stop in Rosiejow.
If you haven’t visited the donation page- please hope on and have a look.
Our Crazybikeguys are doing a great job and your support for Logwood Village would be so appreciated!
